Ah, how I love to write about lost boys and orphans.
As you can see, The Wrangler and the Orphan is coming along. I’ve past that point in the story that always seems to hold me up, the one where each MC feels in their hearts that there’s something special about the other MC.
How does someone know they’ve started to fall in love? And how does an author write about that?
It’s different for every pairing and every author, I think, but for me, the characters have to undergo a transition where they actually can fall in love. Where they feel safe enough or maybe that their world has changed enough that falling in love is the next most natural step.
Both of the characters in the story, Brody and Kit, are funny and sweet, in their own way, and they’ve had such hard lives, both of them. Brody has been waiting for someone to love, and Kit, well, Kit’s been waiting to BE loved his whole life.
And thus, the magic unfolds itself.
