De-Cluttering My Spices!

Mundane Task Relaxes Me

I’ve always watched a lot of cooking videos, but recently I discovered this gentleman on YouTube by the name of Ethan Chlebowski. He’s got a ton of videos for recipes that I’ve enjoyed making, most notably the one for haluski.

In my current goal of following Marie Kondo’s advice in her book, The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, I discovered that Ethan had a video about The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Your Kitchen Pantry. From there, I discovered his video called Beginner’s Guide to Kitchen Organization.

It was on this last video that I saw this terrific spice rack that I could really use and that would take my Utter Clutter of spices, which were located everywhere and spilled out onto my counter.

There were even spices on the top of my fridge!

The spice racks arrived and I put off using them until today, when I finally asked myself, “What are you waiting for?”

So I emptied out the spice cupboard…

…wiped it down and put the empty racks back in.

So I organized, filling and labelling the new bottles.

I recycled the packaging, the old glass bottles, and yes, the stained and ragged-edged old boxes.

I’m here to tell you this – I am just sorry I waited!

You will find multiple bags and jars of the same spice. Like parsley, which I don’t even use that often!

Like Allspice.

Also, you WILL sneeze and the turmeric WILL get everywhere, in spite of you. But to me, it was all worth it.
