So Glad To Be Home

In Spite of the Work Waiting For Me

I’m so glad to be at home, though my house seems rather dusty and all I can see are things that need doing. 😃

The best part of my road trip were three specific bits of road – largely due to the fact that there was nobody on the road with me. You see, on the I-25 and I-10 interstates the speed limit is 75 miles per hour. I grew up with 55 mph being the speed limit and that felt comfortable for me.

Now I can drive at 65 mph, but I prefer not to go over 60. Call me Mrs. Slowbody, cause I know everybody on the highway was!

75 seems too fast, but then people were in a hurry to get where they were going, likely to work or to make a delivery (there were a gazillion 18-wheelers on the highway!)

So here are the three bits of road that offered tranquility, vista views, and a whole lotta sky.

The cutoff between Deming, NM and Hatch, NM (Highway 26). 50 miles of wild west bliss.

The stretch of highway between Santa Fe, NM and Raton, NM (I-25) A little bit rugged, a little bit serene.

The highway going up from Tucson (highway 79) all the way up to Chandler, AZ. All desert, no water, perfect for thinking deep thoughts.
