The Cowboy and the Hacker – Book #5 in the Farthingdale Valley series is underway! Current word count: 58,210. Estimated completion of first draft is October 31, 2024.

Previous Updates

The Cowboy and the Dealer – Book #4 in the Farthingdale Valley Series – I’ve gotten one beta back, and did basic edits. Still waiting on the second beta. Book should be out by end of July. Current word count: 90,827.

Current WIP: A short novella for the 2023 YBBB Freebie. Estimated word count 15,000. Available November 23rd. Alas, the YBBB freebie project was cancelled.

Current WIP: Book #3, The Cowboy and the Outcast, in the Farthingdale Valley is underway. Word count: 90,000. Has been sent to my beta readers, yeah! Anticipated go live date: September 29, 2023.

Current WIP: Book #2 in the Farthingdale Valley is back from my beta reader, still waiting on the editor. Word count: 80,000. Go live date for The Cowboy and the Hoodlum: May 31, 2023. Available for preorder.

WIP: Not sure! I’ve got half a dozen stories in my head, but need to decide which one to write first.

WIP: The Cook and the Gangster: 85,000 words. Draft sent to Beta readers on January 22, 2022. Publication date: February 22, 2022.

My current WIP is The Cook and the Gangster. I’m about 20,000 words into it and have discovered that Cassidy Lane (the gangster) is quite sassy and that Levi Walker (the cook) has a tragic backstory. But wait, they both have tragic backstories! Otherwise, if they didn’t, would it really be a Jackie North Story?

I anticipate finishing the first draft by January 15th and will send it off to my lovely betas then. Please let me know if you have any questions, okay?

The Wrangler and the Orphan – Farthingdale Ranch #4. W count: 96,784. Book is uploaded and ready to go! Publication date is October 26, 2021.

I’ll be honest – this got kind of schmoopy toward the end, but I think you’ll like it.

I’ve got three scenes to write (average length 3,000 words), an epilogue (anticipated length 3,000 words), and the bonus material (average length 6,000 words). I don’t know how it came down to this point where I have 12,000 words to write in two days but there it is. I will send everything to my betas by 5 pm on October 3rd, and write the bonus material on Monday.

I’m in the home stretch with about 12,000 words to go, thereabouts. I did decide on the epilogue, which I know readers love, and also the bonus content, which means I know exactly the direction the story needs to go.

Heart of a Lion – Sequel to Honey From the Lion – Draft in progress. Word count: 15,000.
